Rating by category:
The filth. I have never stayed in a room before where I was grossed out just walking on the floor in bare feet. I quickly made sure my sandles were close by at all times. Also there were faded pinkish stains on the wall above one of the beds and outside the bathroom...(?).
Close to MCRD and that was a big plus. The price was good.
It was not very clean. There were large bugs in the hall ways and hair in the bathroom.
Old world charm, quiet, and well appointed.
Large sliding glass doors overlooking pool Modern television Comfortable bed
Parking could be hairy Dated bathroom
The staff and the use of a computer to print boarding passes.
The room was very clean but there was a smell of stale tobacco.
The Big Bed,sliding door access to pair and pool
Vending machine choices
Pretty good location between the airport and Sea World (quick access to Gas Lamp, Balboa Park, and Old Town areas). Reasonable rates and clean rooms. Has a microwave and mini-fridge in the room if you need it.
Although I booked a non-smoking room with a king sized bed, when I arrived the room they gave me was a room with a twin sized bed (for the inconvenience, the gave me $15 off for a 2 night stay). There isn't much parking around the hotel. We arrived back a little late one night and had to find street parking in the adjacent residential neighborhood.
The hotel was adequate but not great. It was quiet on the back side of the hotel. Quick check in process and they let us in early.
Rooms were very dated. The room was quite hot when we checked in and it took some time to cool down.
All pretty good thanks
Were you are based
hotel was handy to most things .
being asked what time we were leaving for the day so they could clean the room and the room did not get cleaned that day
Staff is friendly and near to down town transit center and near bus stop no need to walk long distance to board bus.
Corridors stinks and Rooms also stinks a bit less and air conditioners makes a lot of sound. Wifi is very difficult to find in room if you move outside the room and stand in corridor you can find good signal and very horrible experience for internet not idle for business people.
I loved the breakfast and the price of the rooms. The free WiFi never failed. I loved that the pool was easy access to the family rooms.
I didn't like the spider Web at the top corner of our room. The door wasn't aligned properly so there was a Crack on the side. The door didn't seem like it would keep anyone out. There was no way to control the temp of the a/c.
Clost to airport
location was good as it was close to the airport
The rug in the hallway is dirty and the hotel is dingy. The rooms were okay. We had to pay a $50 deposit on the room on top of the bill. The hotel reception was horrible. We asked to call for a cab the evening before to reserve for an early departure, and the front desk told us we had to call the day of departure (the cab driver said we could have called earlier). We asked for a wake up call at 5:00 am and at 7:00 am and got a call at 2:00 am and 2:15 am with NO call at 5:00 am or 7:00 am.
It was quiet enough. The breakfast was fine.
Night manager required my brother to register. Same guy, I'm sure, that wouldn't confirm my reservation over the phone prior to my arrival. Maybe he's just following orders, but that type of micromanagement is a turn-off. My grading of staff, who were otherwise welcoming, drops to "fair" because of it.
